Be Wild! Re:Loaded

Also for IED Design Rome’s MiScusi Thesis project (see the related post), we experimented with an approach of accumulation and selection from the worlds of art, communication, and architecture to build an archipelago of visual and narrative references before the proper design session: but the refined selection, the juxtaposition, the first statements of intent already express a critical point of view that prelude to design choices. As in the case of the Wild Book, students were asked to collect the research work into a physical artifact, a “biblical” scroll to be unrolled as if it were a tablecloth laden with ideas and insights for subsequent spatial evolutions.

// Who we are

UNPACKED Studio has been founded by Daniele Mancini and Irene Rinaldi, both architects and educators.

Daniele Mancini is Ph.D. in Theory of Architecture. He worked in France at Jakob+ MacFarlane Architects and in The Netherlands at Wiel Arets Architects. He is currently involved in teaching activities at IED Istituto Europeo di Design di Roma.

Irene Rinaldi worked in Spain at De La Puerta Architects and in Italy at Schiattarella Associati where participated to the design of Italian Pavillon for the Japan Expo 2005 in Aichi (Nagoya)

UNPACKED Studio started in January 2005 thanks to the Young Entrepreneurs European funds “Sviluppo Italia”.
